Trainer Sophie Price believes Wyndham Cup winner Motorboat Mike is in career best form.
"The older he gets, the better he's going ... he's really enjoying his work," Price said after the 9-year-old gelding won the cup at Gore on Sunday.
Motorboat Mike has started in four Wyndham Cups. He finished sixth last year, second in 2016 and seventh in 2014.
Apprentice Tina Comignaghi rode him on Sunday and was also aboard for his previous win, at the Riverton Easter meeting last year.
Price plans to start Motorboat Mike in the $60,000 Riverton Cup on March 31 and hopes Comignaghi will be available to ride him. The stayer ran third in the Riverton Cup last year and second in 2016.
Meanwhile, Birchwood trainer Stephen Blair-Edie could have four nominations for the Riverton Cup - Come Fly With Me, He Ain't Heavy, The Quiet Man and Wild Jack.
The Quiet Man was most impressive winning the rating 65 and jumpers 2000 on Sunday, while He Ain't Heavy fought doggedly for third in the Wyndham Cup.
