Okay, let's stop for a moment and just say WOW.
Boogie is doing it big.
Though the Pelicans fell to the T-Wolves Wednesday night by a final score of 104-98, quite literally zero percent of the blame can fall on the shoulders of DeMarcus Cousins.
He was everywhere all night long, doing it all even with Anthony Davis finally back from injury.
Boogie is making a statement.
35 PTS, 9 REBS, 6 ASTS, 6 STLS, 3 BLKS, & 5 3s.DeMarcus Cousins is the 1st player to have that stat line in #NBA history.— NBA.com/Stats (@nbastats) November 2, 2017
Who does this? Actually, according to the NBA record books, nobody.
Cousins led the team Wednesday in points, defensive rebounds, steals, blocks, and three-pointers made while finishing in a three-way tie for the team lead in assists.
This might've been the single most impressive 40 minute performance of his career, and if he'd found a way to pull out the dub, too, this would've easily ranked as such.
Though their record may not reflect it at the moment, the Pelicans are looking much improved this season thanks to the stellar play of Cousins.
If he keeps this up, Giannis may have some real comp going forward in the MVP race.
