For centuries, humans have been deducing what makes people tick and how we all mesh together in society. Part of what makes all of the cogs of civilization work is our unique personalities that complement and contrast each other. According to the Myer-Briggs personality test, there are 12 major personality types that all humans fit into. There is one, however, that is rarer than the others, with less than 1% of the world’s population fitting the description, called an INFJ personality.INFJ Personality Traits
An INFJ personality, otherwise known as “The Advocate” is the rarest of all of the twelve Myer-Briggs personality types. INFJ stands for Introvert, Intuitive, Feeling, Judging. While these qualities may seem to contradict each other, they create harmony for the small group of people who possess this combination.Personality In a Nutshell
The INFJ has an inborn sense of idealism and morality. They are not idle-dreamers but instead set concrete steps to realize goals and make a positive impact. INFJ tend to see their purpose in their lives as helping people, and while they take pleasure in the hands-on help they would generally prefer to fight so that the issue isn’t present, to begin with.
Though they are soft-spoken, they’ll fight tirelessly for something that they believe in. Decisive and strong-willed, they rarely use it for personal gain. INFJ will fight with creativity, imagination, conviction, and sensitivity, choosing to soften the hearts of tyrants with love and compassion.Social Interactions
It can be difficult to get to know an INFJ. They are typically private and enigmatic. They don’t readily share their thoughts and feelings unless they are comfortable.
When they do feel comfortable, INFJ’s find it very easy to connect with people because of their talent for warm, sensitive language, but they do yearn for deep connections. They are, however, introverted, meaning that they need time alone in order to decompress and recharge. INFJ’s take great care of other people’s feelings and expect the same in return.Strengths
Creative – Combining a vivid imagination and a strong sense of compassion, INFJ’s use their creativity to solve human problems, which makes them excellent counselors or advisors.
Insightful – Seeing through dishonesty, INFJ’s are able to sidestep manipulation to get to the root of any discussion.
Inspiring/Convincing – INFJ’s can be incredibly good speakers if they believe in what they are speaking about. Their passion is infectious.
Decisive – INFJ’s don’t just see the way things ought to be, but they act on those insights. They are able to follow through on their ideas with conviction and willpower.
Determined/Passionate – When an INFJ believes in something there is no stopping them, and their enthusiasm may take their loved ones off guard.
Altruistic – All of these strengths are used for good. INFJ act on their beliefs not for personal gain, but for the forward movement of their idea and beliefs.Weaknesses
Sensitive – Most INFJ are highly vulnerable to criticism and conflict and may react negatively to a challenge.
Extremely Private – INFJ tends to present their idea to the world, but not themselves. Their private lives remain very private, making it difficult for them to open up, even to close friends.
Perfectionist – INFJ strives for the best-of-the-best, which is not always possible. They tend to leave relationships or jobs in search of something more ‘perfect’
Always Needs a Cause – Menial tasks are involved in any campaign, and because INFJ is very goal driven those necessary tasks will leave them feeling disappointed and restless.
Can Burn Out Easily – Passion, poor patience for routine maintenance and extreme privacy often leave INFJ with few options for letting off steam. INFJ is likely to exhaust themselves with their enthusiasm.Famous INFJ’s Martin Luther KingNelson MandelaAlanis MorissetteMother TeresaJimmy CarterNicole KidmanMorgan FreemanYou Can Take the Test Too!
