DEAR DEIDRE: I WENT to London to one of my brother’s gigs and ended up having sex with the lead singer.
My brother is 25 and he’s been playing lead guitar in a band for two years. I’m a 20-year-old girl and work in a beauty salon.
We had a great night. I’d always liked their singer but I didn’t think much about it until after they came off after the set which went really well. He grabbed me and kissed me full on the mouth. He’s 28. He slipped a bit of paper into my pocket with his number on it.
We started texting and he picked me up one night and we went out for a drink. He kept touching me playfully and he seemed really nice. We went back to his flat and had sex twice, that night and in the morning.
I thought it went really well and carried on texting as before but he messaged me and said he was stressed and didn’t want to complicate his life.
He called round last night to pick up my brother for another gig.
He said hello but that was it. Does he not like me any more?
I am afraid he’s a player who is used to being the centre of girls’ attention and you innocently assumed it meant more to him than it did.
I wonder how many girls he’s passed his number to like that.
DEIDRE SAYS: Put this down to experience and when a guy comes on to you in future take it steadily.
Make sure they are thinking of the same sort of relationship as you before getting seriously sexual.
I hope that singer used protection, by the way, and not left you vulnerable to another nasty surprise. Any worries on that score, see nhs.uk/worthtalkingabout or phone 0300 123 2930 who are there for young people.
