Cardinals' Robert Nkemdiche Reportedly Arrested for Speeding and Driving With Suspended License

One Arizona Cardinals' defender recently found himself on the wrong side of the law.

According to Clayton Klapper of ABC15, Arizona Cardinals defensive end Robert Nkemdiche was arrested two weeks ago in Scottsdale, Ariz. on charges of speeding and driving with a suspended license.

The police report indicates that Nkemdiche was driving 75 mph in a 45mph zone around 6:30 a.m. on June 6, prompting an officer to pull him over. Nkemdiche told the officer that he was on his way to the team facility for practice, which began at 7:00 a.m.

According to the report, the officer noticed a white powdery substance in his vehicle's credit card holder. However, Scottsdale police decided against testing the substance, due to Nkemdiche's cooperation, a potentially massive break for the 24-year-old defensive end.

The team released the following statement on Nkemdiche's arrest:

"We are aware of the June 6th incident involving Robert Nkemdiche. We have alerted the NFL office in accordance with the league’s personal conduct policy and will comment further when appropriate.”

Prior to the start of the season, the Cardinals chose against picking up Nkemdiche's fifth-year option. The former 29th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft is set to become a free agent at the end of the upcoming campaign.
