Zac Taylor and the Cincinnati Bengals technically added two interesting quarterbacks behind Andy Dalton surrounding the 2019 NFL draft.

Ryan Finley in the fourth was one, with Jake Dolegala later joining the team via free agency.

According to Bengals.com, Dolegala was also talking with the Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings.

“It’s an even playing field now,” Dolegala said. “Obviously the guys that get drafted have a little more up front, but it will all work out in the wash. I think here I have the best opportunity to rise up the ladder as quickly as possible. (A new coaching staff) is a great opportunity. We’re basically all learning together.”

Dolegala is an incredible story. As we noted in our UDFA profile, a major injury at a bad time limited his college options, where he proceeded to light it up at Connecticut State.

Dolegala, along with Finley, were the only two quarterbacks to be officially brought into Paul Brown Stadium on visits during the draft process.

Despite the competition, a new coach and the pre-draft process seemed to swing things in Cincinnati’s favor.
